AN ISLANDER IMMERSION
CULTURAL DIVE
The day begins with fishing from a traditional pirogue, using methods still practised by local fishermen rather than a tourist-oriented format.
In the evening, a Sega performance is arranged on a private stretch of shore, featuring drumming, dance, and song. Sega is Mauritius's traditional music and dance form, and the performance is delivered as it would be in its original setting rather than as a staged show.
Together, the two parts of the day offer a direct connection to how the island has lived for generations, combining a working tradition with a cultural performance.
